Tomatoes Are On The Way

There's nothing I love more than tomatoes. Seriously, I eat them like apples year-round! Last year I grew my first crop from seeds to plants and I was successful, surprisingly. This year I'm planting big boys, early girls, rutgers, grape and cherry tomatoes. I can't wait for summer sun and homegrown tomatoes, right off the vine!
Last week my tomato and seedlings were barely peeking through the dirt:
This week they are getting bigger:
Pretty soon, it will be time to harden them off and plan them outside. Spring and summer are right around the corner, thank goodness.
My herb garden is sprouting too! I'll have parsley, oregano, chives and cilantro in no time.

Hurry up Spring!

Things have been eventful and uneventful lately. We've had a few changes that we didn't expect lately, but that's life right? Everything else has been business as usual. I'm totally over the cold weather, and especially gray days. Can it please be springtime like, yesterday?!? I was thrilled that it snowed this year, especially enough to stick and enough to make snowmen and enjoy it, but now I'm done with winter. It has been colder than usual this year and I'm over it. All I can think about lately is blue skies and warm weather. I can't wait for spring days when it is nice enough to sit outside and enjoy cold beer on someone's patio, or sit outside and enjoy a slice at the Mellow Mushroom.

I'm also looking forward to:
  • Masters Week in Augusta
  • Easter
  • Camping at the Lake
  • Driving around with my windows down
  • Visiting family in Florida this summer

2010 So far...

This year has been pretty busy so far. I can't believe it is March already, but I'm so glad that it is almost springtime. Here's what we've been up to so far!
In February...
We celebrated Matt's 30th birthday with a surprise trip to Savannah.

We got almost 6 inches of snow in Augusta! (This almost never happens!)

I started my search for more carnival glass at flea markets and antique marts. I love this stuff!

In January...
I went to a bluegrass concert (Blue Highway) at the Imperial with a few of my work girls. The company was great and the band was even better than expected!

I hung out with the sis, and enjoyed a HUGE ice cream cone from McD's.
I went to visit one of my best friends, Kelly in Savannah, since I hadn't seen her since the fall. i had a great weekend relaxing and wandering around downtown.

I took the hubs to see Willie Nelson and his family band for the first time. I'd seen him twice previously and this time wasn't a disappointment either. I heart Willie and most of his songs.
